A little bit quiet

My last post was in March! That's terrible! But to be fair, I haven't knitted much since then with an imminent house move on the cards!

What was supposed to be a relatively easy process has turned into a long paper trail wait and not on our side but the developers we are buying the house from.  But we should hopefully be in by the end of June - they say! 

So in preparation for this 44mile move, I've been itching to pack up house and have a big clean out but haven't really got anywhere with that, instead, my new project has been 'dining room table revamp!' Which involves a lot of messing about with paint and sandpaper! Safe to say my house is messier than it was and whole lot more to clean up! I've replaced the table legs and just about finished painting them, then to do the table top! If this fails... Then I'll just have to buy a new one.... The one I can't justify buying because what would I do with this one?!! Guess I'll just have to see how it goes.

So Prettiknit's needles are packed away for a little while and will be busy prettipainting instead. 😊

Easter Bunny

I cannot believe that it is almost Easter! I keep seeing the stores laden with easter eggs and keep thinking that its still ages away...save to say its not and its about time I posted these lovely hats on my Etsy store.

I only have 2 available, orange and green.  Something slightly different yet fun for boys and girls! Made from the ever so soft kid silk mohair, these little hats are for newborn bunnies!

A big step

Just on 5 years ago my husband was offered a job, we packed a bag full of clothes and a few photographs and moved to London.  Since we were on a visa, we couldn't buy a house, but now that we have UK residency, we can!!!

So we had an eventful weekend looking at houses, dreaming that one day we will have our own. Dreaming of the perfect kitchen to bake in and the perfect little room to store all my lovely wool in...  that dream is some what closer as we are waiting to hear if our offer has been accepted! Its just a little family, starter home, but it will be ours.  Fingers crossed we get it!


So for now, Prettiknit is a bit quiet as we take time to read up and budget,  but I am still here and will be posting things on my Etsy shop as and when I get them done.

Reflection...

2012 saw the start of my little hobby go public.  Knitting little hats and wraps for photographers has certainly  helped me pass the time, even with all the stress that it (sometimes) brings, I have loved every minute of it.  A big thank you to everyone who has helped me, bought my items or given me encouragement or advice.

Happy New Year

Well, what a busy month it has been! My mom came over from South Africa early December to spend 2 months with us. We went away for a lovely, but very cold, week in Elveden, went back to work for a week, then Christmas came along and now it's 2013!!! Safe to say I am glad things have calmed down and I can get back to knitting! Although I did have a few projects going on that I somehow managed to squeeze in!



I am currently putting together a RTS sale. Just working on a few more items for some variety. This will be posted on my Facebook page. So keep an eye out for that!
